The study was conducted to showcase and/ or feature the different native cuisines and its acceptability of taste using “Banusok”- local name or lancelets (branchiostoma lanceolatum) traditionally known as amphioxus and locally known in Malita as “ banusok” are filter feeding, fish-like, marine chordates that resemble anchovies is abundant and highly perishable . They are usually found buried in sand shallow parts of temperature or tropical seas and widely distributed in coastal areas in Asia, and have been used as a food source in the Philippines.
This endeavor was done in order to
know more about lancelets, its physical characteristics, reproduction,
taxonomy, etc. Likewise, its nutritional value so that people will be aware
also what nutrients they can get out from it.
As
the title entails, Lancelets: An Appetizing Delight from the Sea, this project was
made to propagate the information that our municipality, Malita particularly
Barangay Fishing Village is blessed with this kind of specie from the sea that
surely wins your appetite.
Since lancelet is perishable, it is recommended that people must be aware of the importance of knowing the better preservation technique and reproduction.

it is a very overwhelming to know that there are still a lot of creatures that are not well known to us as this one that can be benefited by human beings as food source. But since the process of harvesting this marine animal is not easy maybe only few people will know their existence.
