Methodology



PRELIMINARIES

• Research Team Organization
            Convergence of Learners in Information and Communication Technology (CLICT) was organized just this school year 2011- 2012. To further enhance the computer skills of the members especially the officers, the club decided to join “The 4th Doon Po Sa Amin- Ano ang Kwento Mo”. Nine (9) officers were selected to become the student- researchers. There are Three (3) teacher- coaches, one (1) moderator (ICT coordinator) and one (1) adviser (Principal) completed the team.

• Exposure to the Nature of Competition
            In order for the team to know and/ or expose of what they will be facing off, a special meeting was then called so that the student- researchers will be given important details about the competition by their coaches. After the meeting, student- researchers were then exposed to internet, getting information from the last year entries and winners of Doon Po Sa Amin.   

• Conceptualization of the Project
Another meeting was called with the ultimate agenda, The Project Making- Title, Category. Brain storming begun, discussions started, debate was happen just to give birth of their entry for the different category. After several proposals, discussion, amendments, it was finally agreed that the team will join the travel and cuisine category with the title: “Lancelet: An Appetizing Delight from the Sea”.

• Planning and Assigning of Tasks
            A very important meeting was again called by the three coaches, moderator and with the adviser. This time the concern will be tasking, timetable, Guntt Chart making. Student- researchers were given task, what, when, why and how to prepare was instructed to them. In the chart, it was finalized what are the results area, time frame, resources, etc. It was highly emphasized that data and other needed articles part of the project shall be submitted or handed over to the coaches on or before the scheduled date. 

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

Courtesy shall be accorded to the Municipal Mayor, Barangay Captain and officials before data gathering. The data will be gathered through direct interview with the residents, folk fishers and college professors who are concern about marine resources using the interview guide questionnaires. To facilitate the discussion and interview, the researchers will prepare in advance the interview questions. At the same time, to facilitate understanding and encourage participation, the interview guide questionnaire shall be translated to vernacular.
Next, upon the approval of the letter, the student- researchers, accompanied by their coaches will arrange a schedule and appointments regarding the actual video and interview. Pre- visit of the area (Fishing Village) will be done also. Data on the nature of Banusok will be taken from the SPAMAST library, an interview from SPAMAST faculty, interview of folk fishers and most of all though research from the internet. Likewise, data on community profile will be taken from the office of Municipal Planning and Development Center and of course from the LGU website. In general, most of the data will be taken from the internet and direct interview.

·        When did it was first discovered?
·        What nutrients can we get out of this small creature which is the Banusok?
·        Is it an ordinary worm or a fish-like creature?
·        How does it evolve?
·        What are some sites wherein the lancelets are mostly seen?
·        Is it an endangered species?
·        What are some examples of food which is suitable for the lancelet to eat?
·        Is it true that they are seen on sandy places?
·        What are the characteristics of these species?
·        Do they have the senses?
·        In what way do they communicate with another lancelet?
·        How do they survive through water?
·        Do they have gills like the ordinary fishes?
·        What are some examples of recipes wherein the lancelet are involved?
·        What are the uses of this species?
·        How to harvest banusok and its materials to use?

  1. medyo madugo pala tlaga ang paraan ng pangangalap ng mga impormasyon anu, hindi pala madali. naisip ko tuloy yung mga reporter sa TV. haha. dpat hindi magkamali kasi maraming taong nanunuod.
